Poppies on Purple...

Poppies on Purple/ oil on board/ 6 x 6/ $100
I have a friend who hates purple....and purple is one of my favorite colors. Today I wanted to paint the bright red poppies from last year. This year's seeds are germinated and tiny poppy plants are starting to appear....
I used a modification of Julie Ford Oliver's fracturing technique to "mess up" the edges.

    Love the pop of colors in this one. I am warming up to purple..slowly but warming. I see the importance of it in my work and that edges me towards using it more.
